Education stands at the forefront of our Fraternity's values, deeply rooted in our enduring commitment to learning. The landmark 1945 Conclave in St. Louis, Missouri, saw a transformative restructuring of our constitution, marking the genesis of education as an international program within the Fraternity. This program illuminates our path forward, catering to both alumni and collegiate members through a myriad of initiatives. These range from scholarships to lectures, and from college fairs to mentoring and tutoring, all designed to enrich our presence at every echelon, be it local, regional, or national.
Phi Beta Sigma’s intentional focus on education was firmly established in 1936 with the election of Hon. Bro. Fred G. Minnis Esq, the Fraternity’s first elected Director of Education. This historic decision, unique among our fraternal counterparts, codified education as a central pillar of the organization and set in motion a tradition of leadership that continues to shape the Fraternity’s service to students, families, and communities.
The Education Program of Phi Beta Sigma Incorporated is continuing to advance excellence in education and strengthening communities.
The Nu Beta Sigma Chapter is committed to achieving community excellence through key initiatives of, Scholarship, Adopt- A- School Programs, Literacy, S.T.E.M. Programs, Testing Advocacy, Global Education, Advocating for Education and Public Health, Debate and Oratorical Competitions and The Arts.
As your Education Director we will work together for the greater good of underserved and disenfranchised communities to create meaningful impact on a societal level.
It is my sincere honor to serve in this role and work tirelessly to catapult this program far beyond our Founders dreams. I have over 35 years of education experience as a classroom teacher in Early Childhood Education, K-12 Education, and at the Collegian level. I have served as an educational program administrator for military and non-military children world-wide. I am passionate about the education of young children, and I have a firm belief that anyone can learn using a variety of approaches and techniques.
Thank you for this opportunity to serve you and I look forward to “Getting into GOOD Trouble”
Very Respectful,
Bro. Kenneth J. Prince M. Ed.
